The value of preparation
Read Matthew 22:1-14 on the parable of the wedding feast.
“For many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matthew 22:14)
There is a vast difference between those who are called and chosen. The difference between them lies in their preparation. The man who came to the feast without a wedding garment on suggests that he put no value in his call towards the invitation given to him. He made no preparations to purchase and put on a wedding garment to attend the wedding feast. As a result, he is not chosen to take part in the feast and is cast out.
As Christians, all of us are called (to take upon the invitation) to go forth and tell people about the salvation plan that Jesus had given unto us. It’s not about where we are going but preparing ourselves to be sent. Jesus has given us the call and He is looking for people who would value the preparation they put on themselves (such as reading and studying His word, committed to setting aside a portion of time for prayer) to make themselves ready to be sent by Him. Hence, it is such an important thing to prepare ourselves and it is a lifetime process!
In this second segment, we will not only focus on praying for ourselves to be prepared to be sent out by God but to also pray for the hearts of people to be ready to hear the word of at CEJ.
